June is a fantastic time of year to visit Cornwall.  The weather has well and truly turned all summery – The MET office has indeed predicted a HEATWAVE – but more than that, after the crazy start of May everyone has hit their stride and are ready for the great summer season ahead!

There are also loads of events to look forward to in June – My favourite June events include:

• The GWR Polo on the Beach at Watergate Bay
  • Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June

This June event really kicks off the summer, with champagne flowing and the thundering of hooves on the otherwise tranquil beach of Watergate Bay this is an event not to be missed! check out the website www.watergatebay.co.uk for further info

 

• The Electric Beach Festival!
  • Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June

One of my favourite events of the year, this really kicks off the festival season here in Cornwall and is always such great fun! This year this popular June event has moved from Watergate Bay to Fistral Beach meaning that it is going to be bigger than ever! Headliners such as The Cat Empire on Saturday evening and the notoriously rambunctious Alabama 3 – we will certainly be grooving on with the best of them!

• The Eden Project Green Fingers Gardening Festival
  • 1st – 21st June

Ok so this one is a bit of a cheat as the Eden Project has awesome events on every month, but this month they are focusing on Green Fingers! 😉 I am particularly excited about this one as our very own Mr Bloom from Cbeebies (originally from Cornwall despite the accent!!) is doing a guest talk on the 13th and 14th June – with all the champagne and dancing the night away I couldn’t miss out the lil ones! And for keen gardeners there are other guest talks from the likes of Charlie Dimmock and Chris Beardshaw

• Elton John at the Eden Sessions
  • St Austell  16 June – 17 June

None other than the great ELTON JOHN is coming to Cornwall – now surely this is one not to be missed – in fact the Eden Sessions are littered with top ranking acts this year – each year they just keep getting better and better – the best bit… Eden is only a 35 minute drive from here! Perfect ….

 

So many more brilliant things going on in June … picking is the tricky part….!!
